Questions

The things people actually ask me.

Honest answers about time, money, kids, aging parents, ADHD and menopause brain — and whether I’m going to judge you. (I’m not.) Wherever you’re starting is the right place to start.

How long will it take?

That of course varies, but starting with a 3-hour session is the best idea. You can email or text pictures or videos of the space and I can give you an estimate. What can make a space take more or less time depends on: • How many items we’re working through • How quickly decisions are being made • How involved you want to be during the session • Emotional overwhelm, executive dysfunction, or fatigue We move with purpose and make significant progress in every session — but we can’t move faster than your decisions. Decision fatigue is real, especially for neurodivergent women or people going through life transitions. Part of my job is to notice when the energy is dipping and adjust how we’re working to keep things moving without pushing past your limits. I’m also flexible in how we structure the session. Some clients like to stay involved the whole time. Others prefer to have something else to do nearby while I handle the hands-on sorting, checking in when needed. Either way, I’ll guide the process and adjust the approach as we go to help you stay regulated, supported, and successful.

Can you work with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or grief?

YES! In fact, I feel those are the people that can use my services the most. I’m married to a man with ADHD, and two of my four kids have it as well. I’ve learned over the years how to help them — they are all different! I love to help those that are overwhelmed, underserved, or misunderstood by traditional systems. Whether you’re navigating executive dysfunction, sensory overload, or post-burnout chaos — I’m here with tools, empathy, and zero shame.

I can help clients after major life changes, during health struggles, and while managing households full of unique brains and big feelings. You’re not “too much” for me. You’re just a person who deserves support that works for you.

Are you going to make me throw everything away?

No. Absolutely not.

I’m not here to force you into becoming a minimalist or to guilt-trip you into letting go of your favorite things. My job is to help you make thoughtful, present-day decisions about your space and belongings — decisions that support your life as it is right now.

If you use it, love it, or it genuinely supports your day-to-day, it stays. I help you create systems and spaces that honor what matters to you.

Because organizing isn’t about holding on to who you used to be or who you wish you were. It’s about designing a home that works for the current, real-life YOU. And that version of you deserves peace, clarity, and a space that truly fits your life.

Will you judge me?

This is one of the biggest fears people have when they think about hiring a professional organizer — and it’s completely understandable.

I want you to know right now: I will never judge you.

I come from a place of deep understanding because I’ve been there myself. My parents were hoarders, and I grew up surrounded by clutter and overwhelm. I also struggled with my own stuff, keeping too much, thinking it would get used one day. That personal experience gave me a unique perspective and compassion that I bring to every client interaction.

If anything, messes make me excited because I immediately see the possibilities! A cluttered room isn’t “bad,” it’s just a space waiting to work better for you. When I walk into a home, I don’t see piles of stuff; I see puzzles to solve, systems to create, and calm waiting to happen.

I know firsthand how hard it can be to face years — or even decades — of accumulated stuff. How emotional and exhausting the process can feel. How difficult it is to start, and how easy it is to feel ashamed.

But here’s the truth: organizing is not about perfection or shame. It’s about making peace with your space and your stuff in a way that works for you — no matter where you’re starting from. Together, we’ll create systems and habits that fit your unique brain, your energy, and your lifestyle.

You are not alone, and you are never being judged when you work with me. I’m your biggest cheerleader, your guide, and your safe space through this journey.

Can you help my kids or teens?

Yes! Organizing kids’ and teens’ spaces is so much fun!

I know these spaces can get overwhelming fast — between toys, 3D printed dragons, school supplies, clothes, and everything in between. My approach is gentle, age-appropriate, and tailored to your child’s needs and personality. I’m especially skilled at working with neurodivergent kids and teens, helping them build systems that fit how their brains work, not just how traditional organizers think they should. I used to teach classrooms with 28–32 kids in them, and with four children myself, the biggest take away? Each. Kiddo. Is. Different. And I want to treat them as the unique individual they are. I like to ask them a lot of questions and let them be my guide.

I don’t believe in forcing or shaming. Instead, I help kids and teens develop skills and habits that set them up for success — and I work closely with parents to create realistic expectations and support at home.

When kids and teens feel ownership over their space and systems, they’re much more likely to maintain them. My goal is to make organizing a positive, empowering experience that builds independence and confidence. I hope they then take these skills into adulthood.

Can you help my aging parents?

Yes — helping aging parents is some of the most meaningful work I do. I can help parents downsize, sort through years of belongings, or tackle storage units. These projects can be emotional and overwhelming, but I’m here to make the process manageable and respectful.

Whether it’s deciding what to keep or letting go, creating systems that fit their current needs, or navigating family dynamics, I guide families with care and practical solutions to ease these transitions.

I went through this with my own parents. Trying to figure out what to do with a 4,000 square foot home that was full to the brim.

Do I have to be there the whole time?

It is preferred. Yes, a good reveal at the end of a working session is a lot of fun. However, the most successful projects are ones where the clients are directly involved in making the decisions and helping to implement the organizing strategies.

Why? Because in order for the systems to make sense to the client, they need to be set up in a way that works for him/her and his/her family. Additionally, maintenance routines and transference of skills is an important part of the process that is best done by working together.

However, there is typically a good portion of the time that you can be hands off while I work on things for you.

What do I need to buy?

Maybe nothing at all! I love working with what you already have whenever possible. If we do need bins, containers, or organizing supplies, I’ll guide you toward options that actually make sense for your space, your brain, and your budget — no pressure and no overbuying.

I’m on a GLP-1 (Zepbound / Wegovy / Ozempic / Mounjaro) so my closet is always changing — can you help?

I’ve been there girl! My journey has involved a 50 pound weight loss and a lot of time devoted to figuring out the most practical and financially smart way to handle the change in clothes. I’d love to come alongside you to create a transitional wardrobe system!

I’m in peri-menopause or menopause and I can’t seem to keep my house tidy anymore — why do I need you specifically?

For one, I’m going through it myself! Peri-menopause and menopause aren’t easy — the body temp regulation, the brain fog, the irritability, the body changes… it all affects our executive functioning. We aren’t the same people we once were, and we can’t be expected to have our lives stay the same.

All of that extra clutter everywhere is stressful, and it costs more energy to manage than it used to. I would love to come help you unburden yourself from your stuff and create new systems that don’t take so much thought and remembering. Maybe it would even help you sleep at night? (Wouldn’t that be nice!)

Do your kids and family actually stay organized?

In our common spaces, yes. The systems we’ve put in place — bins, labels, and drop zones — work for everyone, so things generally stay where they belong. When something starts to consistently get messy I have to re-evaluate and come up with a new system.

But in their personal spaces? With my last two at home being teens, I’ve had to teach and allow them to learn how to implement systems that work for them. If our shared spaces run smoothly, I can let their bedrooms go a little. Organization works differently for everyone, and if my kids’ bedrooms work for them, that’s all that matters.

How do you charge?

Most sessions need at least the three hours. That’s also usually when burnout can set in. But I’m happy to work 4–6 hours as well. I don’t have evenings or weekends listed on my site, but we can make that work if that’s what works for you — just ask.

What you might not ask, but might really be wondering

Am I too disorganized for help?

Nope. You’re exactly the kind of person I love working with.

Can organizing actually make me feel better?

Yes. So many clients tell me they feel calmer, clearer, and lighter after just one session.

What if I’ve tried before and failed?

Then you’re human. And now you’re trying again — with support this time.

What if I cry?

Then we take a breath, and we keep going at your pace. This process is emotional sometimes — grief, guilt, shame, and old stories can surface. You’re allowed to feel your feelings here. Some clients tell me doing this is even better than a session with their counselor!

What if I get embarrassed and try to clean before you come?

You don’t have to clean for me — I promise. I need to see the real-life version of your space to understand what’s not working. Mess is part of the job. No judgment, ever.

Is it weird if I’m actually excited to do this?

Not weird at all! You’re allowed to feel hopeful and pumped. Even if it’s hard work, organizing can be empowering and even fun when it’s done with you, not at you. I get really hyped before a session because I know that I will literally be taking a load off your back.

Still wondering something?

Ask me anything — there’s no question that’s too small or too awkward. Send a few photos of the space, or just say hello.
